Tokio Hotel get the award “Best Band International 2009”

As one of the fewest, they succeeded in the international breakthrough as german musicians. Whether in Tel Aviv, Paris, Montreal, Lisboa or New York: Tokio Hotel cause real hysteria worldwide at their mostly female fans.

Tokio Hotel are one of the most successful support hits from Germany. Even over the big pond the enzygotic twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz got into the Billboard Charts with their band. In 2009 the four boys from Magdeburg received the “MTV Europe Music Award” as Best Band and started their international roll.

With the award as Best Newcomer at the “MTV Video Music Awards 2008” in the Paramount Studios in Los Angeles they made history, because the coveted award has been awarded to a german band for the first time. In 2005, their hit “Durch den Monsun” vaulted them to #1 of the german Charts. Three more #1-singles in Germany and Europe, as well as six million sold sound carriers ensued.

In 2006, the young heartbreakers received one of their first prizes, the Radio Regenbogen Award in the category “Pop National 2005”. Bambi, Echo, Comet and the Goldene Kamera ensued amongst other things. With their album “Humanoid”, which was released in English and german, they are currently on tour through Europe.
