What do pop rock band Tokio Hotel, German manufacturer Audi and no less than 22 North American muscle car classics have in common? A very spectacular video, that’s what…

The German manufacturer proves once again that it can hire some very creative advertising agencies. Aimed at popularizing the recently launched Audi A1, the new publicity stunt pulled by Audi brings together Tokio Hotel’s Tom and Bill Kaulitz and their custom made Audi A1 for a short race amidst a line-up of muscle cars brought in for the visual effect.

This is not the first time the rock band ties its name with the one of the German carmaker, as the two identical twin brothers have already done a review of the smallest Audi in the lineup earlier this month. And, if we are to trust the rumors, this is only a preview of something cooking in the Audi ad shops.

Until then, we’ll let you enjoy the video and remind you that the A1 hits the dealers in Germany today. Priced from EUR15,800 and coming in two trim levels, Attraction and Ambition, the model will be sporting three engines at launch, namely the entry-level 1.2 TFSI (86 hp/160 Nm), the 1.4 TFSI (122 hp/200 Nm) and the 1.6 TDI (90 hp/230 Nm). A more powerful version of the TDI engine, developing 105 hp/250 Nm, will be added at a later date.

Without the help of Tokio Hotel’s members, Audi managed to secure enough orders for the model before the launch to announce the increase of production output by 20 percent.

Arriving to remember the life of Adam Goldstein (aka DJ AM), Bill Kaulitz was spotted at Trousdale Nightclub in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday night (August 24).

The “Tokio Hotel” lead singer was decked out in black jeans, a black leather vest and shades as he made his way inside for the tribute session attended by Bai Ling and Karissa Shannon, among others.

The one-year anniversary of DJ AM’s sudden death lands on this Saturday, August 28th. The American DJ died of an accidental drug overdose.

In other news, Tokio Hotel has been hard at work asking their fans to support a group called Designers Against Aids, whose purpose is to inform young people about the importance of safe sex.

Taking their sound overseas, the members of Tokio Hotel were among the participants in the MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia music event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Saturday (July 31).

With Bill Kaulitz, Tom Kaulitz, Gustav Schaefer and Georg Listing all on-hand at the Sunway Lagoon Resort Surf Beach venue, the quartet took part in a press conference before taking the stage for a smokin’ set including Noise, Automatic, Dogs Unleashed and Forever Now.

Chatting with press before their turn onstage, MTV asked the group what fans could expect from the show, to which Bill replied, “What we did on this record is that we tried some new instruments, the guys are playing keyboards, and they are playing piano for the first time, because in general, Tom is only playing the guitar, but he’s also really talented when it comes to the piano, so we went with a new record to try new stuff on stage as well.”

Also asked if there are ever any nerves before performing to packed crowds, the Tokio Hotel frontman answered, “Yes, we do. But when you play a tour for like 3 months or something…with the large shows when it’s the same every night, it’s not that bad, you get used to it. We are always nervous when it’s just the one show, just the one possibility, and it’s always exciting. I think it’s a normal thing to be nervous.”
